Writing for the Sierra Wave: Telling Local Stories That Matter

A few years ago I started writing for the Sierra Wave, and it's become one of the most meaningful things I do. Covering local news in the Eastern Sierra isn't about breaking big stories — it's about making sure the everyday life of this community gets recorded and respected.

Local journalism is where democracy actually lives. Who showed up to the supervisors meeting? What did the council decide about that road? What happened at the volunteer day? If nobody writes it down, it's like it didn't happen.

I try to write the way I'd want to be written about — fairly, with context, and with respect for the people who actually live here. The Eastern Sierra deserves coverage that treats it like a real place, not a postcard.

If there's a story in Inyo or Mono County you think deserves telling, send it my way. That's a big part of what this site — and my writing — is for.
