Bishop City Council 101: Why Showing Up Matters

I started attending Bishop City Council meetings a few years ago, and it changed how I see this town. Not because I had a specific agenda, but because I realized most decisions that shape our community get made in rooms with very few people in them.
Local government is the level where you can actually have an impact. A handful of neighbors showing up can change a vote. A thoughtful comment during public session can redirect a project. Silence, on the other hand, is how bad ideas sail through unchallenged.
I'm not a politician and I don't want to be. But I believe that if you care about your town, you owe it to yourself to understand how it's run. Read the agenda. Show up. Listen. Speak up when it matters.
Bishop is small enough that your voice genuinely counts. That's a gift a lot of bigger towns don't have. Don't waste it.
